My cat is EXTREMELY picky and I, too, have tried many different litters for him--Fresh Step, Johnny Cat, Tidy Cat, even the WalMart brand--and nothing worked; he would pee everywhere but his litterbox. I happened upon this one at our local feed store and Voila! He likes using his litterbox. I believe for him, it's softer/easier on his paws and, for me, it clumps very well--you just have to let the urine clumps sit for about a day to harden up so they'll scoop nicely--and there is really no smell. My guests even tell me that they can't smell the litterbox. I didn't think any litter practiced what it preached but, this one definitely does.
